“Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

Hey students, we are holding our first community service event of the year! On Wednesday, October 24th at lunchtime in the conference room, come help assemble hygiene kits made up of toiletries and other supplies during our HELP THE HOMELESS event! Also look at the Community First page on the MVMS website for more ideas on helping in your community.

We are living in a time of mass migration.  More than 258 million people have left their home countries in search of a better life elsewhere.  Where will all these migrating people go?  How will they contribute to changing communities?  What opportunities can we create to make the world a welcoming place?   What will you do?  We live in One World…Join the club…

Did you like reading about Isabel, Mahmood and Joseph? Come to the library at lunch on Friday where Mr. Maldonado will share his own story. He was a refugee who had to escape Guatemala when he was just five years old. The library will be open for students attending Mr. Maldonado's talk or for quiet reading and homework Friday, but closed for games.

Journalism Club meets TODAY at lunch in room 32. Join us!

Attention all 7th graders: If you are interested in playing in the lunch football league, please sign up in Room 85 during recess or lunch. Any questions please see Mr.O’Dea.

Students! If you have forgotten something at home such as your lunch, homework, iPad or musical instrument and you think someone may bring it to school for you, it is YOUR responsibility to check during passing, or at lunch or recess at the desk in the front office and see if it has arrived. We do NOT deliver items or send notes to students.

Fall Fundraiser News: You can turn in your ticket stubs and money TODAY and tomorrow during lunch or any time at the office. If you need more tickets to sell, you can get them at the tents at recess or from the front office. Races start TODAY, so remember to bring your Chihuahua, kitty or pig out to lunch with you ready to race. Make sure you have fresh batteries in your racer! We will have new tallies for the top three sellers and top classes tomorrow!

All Students please power down your cell phones or other personal electronics NOW and put them in your backpack until the end of the school day.
