Wednesday, Oct. 10th, is International Walk to School Day, the largest day of climate action in Marin County! Join your friends and have fun walking, biking, skating, or scooting that morning for a treat and a chance to win a beautiful, royal blue Alite backpack and HydraPak.   Walk and roll for fun and to help eliminate climate change.


Students, please remember that you required to adhere to all traffic laws, rules, and regulations. This means crossing the street in the crosswalk when you have the light, and not jay-walking. Please remember to be safe and responsible when coming to and from school.


Students please remember that the school building is CLOSED in the morning until the first bell rings at 8:35am. If you have an appointment to meet a teacher before school, please use the outside door that leads directly into their classroom.

Grenadeis about a 13-year-old Japanese boy who is ordered to kill American soldiers at the end of World War Two. Come to the library to get a pre-order form if you would like to buy a copy signed by Alan Gratz. Book Passage will donate a portion of the sales to the MVMS library.

You’ve seen the book trailer in your Panther Time class, and on Monday you get to start reading the novel Refugee by Alan Gratz, the story of three kids who go on harrowing journeys. All face unimaginable dangers, but there is always the hope of tomorrow. Every morning for two weeks starting Monday, over 1,000 of us will read together to find out what happens to Josef, Isabel, and Mahmoud.
If you have already read Refugee, please stop by the library to pick up your Ambassador Pass. You can also pick up one of the books Ms. Palmer has hand-selected to go along with the Refugee story. And if you would prefer to hear the book read aloud, you can stop by the library for a Read Aloud pass as well.

There will be a mandatory informational meeting regarding Student Council next Tuesday, September 11th at lunch in the multi-media room.  Please come and see if Student Council is for you.
