WOO HOO!!  Follow the Yellow Brick Road this weekend to the MVMS Cabaret production of The Wizard of Oz. The show is open to the public March 2nd at 7:30pm, and March 3rd and 4th at 1pm. Tickets are $10 for students and $20 for adults.  For online tickets, go to the MVMS website; tickets will also be available at the door. See you there!!

Would you like some cool new socks? Do you want to help support the fire and mudslide victims here in California? Well you have both! Come to an informational meeting on Monday, March 5th at lunch in room 27 to find out about “Socks for a CAWS” and get the details about how you can help!

Hello MVMS! Anyone looking for a Book Club? Well you’ve found one! The first meeting will be Monday, March 5th in room 27. We will pick the book at the first meeting, then at the following meeting we’ll discuss it. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come!

Students: The Lost and Found is overflowing with jackets, water bottles, PE clothes and lunch containers. Very kind parent volunteers have sorted and organized these orphaned items. NOW IT’S YOUR TURN! Make a trip to the Lost and Found and retrieve your items now. They will be donated next Thursday, March 8th.

Parents: Have you seen that great jacket/sweater/water bottle/lunchbox with your son or daughter lately? It may be in our Lost and Found!


Students, on rainy days the building will open at 8:20am for you to come in out of the rain. Please avoid arriving earlier than that to school. When the doors open at 8:20am, 7th and 8th graders are to report to the library, while 6th graders are to report to the Multi-Media Room. Once those rooms are full, students will be directed to sit quietly by the doors at the end of the hallway, or in the main hallway itself.

We want to challenge all of you to step outside your traditional comfort zone and move beyond our differences to learn how we are all connected.  We want you to invite others to sit with you or you go sit with another group. We also want to be sure that no student eats alone so remember to look around and be sure that everyone is included and no one is excluded. 7th and 8th graders, you probably remember the Beyond Differences’ presentation about social isolation and how it impacts students around the world. We are a community and all interconnected. Sometimes we let our differences stand between us. This Friday we are going to be a true community and bridge the gap between groups, reach out to those classmates who you may never have talked to before, maybe eat lunch with someone in a different grade and get to know someone new. Bring your lunch and come play some games, listen to music, and hang out with someone new! We will provide cookies. If you’re eating, playing or just hanging out on the yard, be sure to mix it up out there too and eat with someone new! And remember that this Friday - NO ONE EATS ALONE!

Attention all 8th graders: This is a reminder that tomorrow, Saturday, February 3rd, is registration and scheduling day at Tam High. Detailed information and instructions regarding registration and course selection have been emailed to your parents. Hey Boys! Remember the upcoming Parent/Son Dance on Friday, February 9th from 7-9pm in the MVMS Gym. Boys can be accompanied by any adult that is close to their heart, regardless of gender or relation. Join us for a night you'll both remember, full of music, dancing, photos, and amazing desserts!
