Time to pick up your pig!  Turn in your tickets TODAY during lunch in the 7th/8th grade lunch area.  Top Panther Time classrooms so far are:  Iyer, Nicholson, Fischer, Eagle, Schostak, Lisker.  For individual sales results, check the boards up in the pod areas. This Wednesday, October 7, is International Walk and Roll to School DayStudent Council will be handing out treats in the front of the school for all students who walk, bike, scooter, or skateboard to school.  This is the largest day of action at Mill Valley Middle School, in Marin County, and in the world.  Remember, if you live too far, get dropped off so you can walk part way. So everyone, join in and let’s make a difference by “going green” to school on Wednesday, October 7th.  


Hey MVMS students, do you want to have your song played during lunch on Fridays? During the daily morning music?  There is a box in the Library where you can submit your song requests. Just write down the name of a song and artist and you could hear your request during the morning music or at lunch on Fridays!  Make your suggestion soon, and maybe your song will be played next week!
 

Club News
Are you interested in being a better speller?  Do you like competing in word games?  Then join the Spelling Bee club and meet us in Room 32 on Tuesdays at lunch, starting tomorrow.  We will prepare for the regional fall spelling bees until Winter Break, then after that we will play word games of your choice.  See Mrs. Gough in Room 32 at lunch tomorrow for more information.


Yearbook Club meets tomorrow, Tuesday, during lunch in Mrs. Fischer's room 31. Everyone who turned in their application should attend.




Beyond Differences Leaders – applications are now past due and there are only three spots left for the retreat! If you are still interested in going on the leadership retreat, turn in your application to your counselor  ASAP.
 

Calligraphy Club will meet on Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:15am - please note the time correction.

The first meeting for the Rubik’s Cube Club is today, Monday, in Room 36, Upper 7th Grade Pod—Ms. Peets’ room.

Calling all lovers of scary stories and adventures! The MVMS Book Club will read “Doll Bones” in October! A creepy book about three kids who must put a ghost to rest, Doll Bones is perfect for Halloween. Check it out the from the library and read chapters 1-5 for our first meeting this Wednesday, October 7 in Room 1 at lunch.

Sports News
Co-Ed Intramural Flag Football tournament play starts today. Rosters and schedules for the 8th Grade NFL League, AKA the NOT FOR LONG Flag Football League, will be posted at lunch on the pillars outside the Panther Cafe. Teams will play every day at lunch on four different fields for the next seven school days. After that there will be two rounds of playoffs and a Championship game on the Friday, October 16th.  


6th and 7th grade drafts will happen at recess today and tomorrow and rosters will be posted at lunch on Wednesday, October 7th, along with a schedule, outside the Panther Cafe.  6th and 7th grade games will begin on Monday, October 19th. If you have any questions or late entries to teams as undrafted free agents then come see Mr. Davey in room 85 at recess.
