"I think education is power.  I think that being able to communicate with people is power.  One of my main goals is to encourage people to empower themselves."

Tomorrow we will hold our annual disaster drill.  It will be longer than a firedrill as we will be practicing how we will respond in an actual emergency.  We will have an alternate bell schedule on Wednesday, and there will not be Panther Time.  Students will go to period 5, period 6, recess, period 1, lunch and period 2 after lunch.  The drill will begin at the end of period 2.  Students are expected to follow the instructions of their teachers and behave in a responsible and mature manner.

TODAY is the last day to turn in raffle tickets and money.  Top sellers will be announced on Thursday and receive a cool prize and a chance to throw a pie at Mr. Nelson.  Thanks to everyone who sold raffle tickets!

Greetings Mathletes!  Did you know that 3 out of every 2 people have trouble with fractions?  Don't forget to bring your lunch to Ms. Ferreira's room 33 TODAY for some calculated fun.

GSA meets TODAY at lunch in the multimedia room.  Bring your lunch and join us.

Hey 7th & 8th Graders, your DJ Georgia Smith will be taking requests for school appropriate songs to be played during lunch on Fridays. Any student may drop a suggestion in the marked box in the library.

Check out our school newspaper Panther Prints. There is a link on the front page of the MVMS website and a new issue will be out every month making sure you're always informed. If you love to write and share your writing, you have the opportunity to have it featured in the school newspaper by emailing submissions to nmiller@mvschools.org

Good luck MVMS Cross Country Team at the meet TODAY.  Go Panthers!
