"Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."
Students, we understand that as it gets warmer, you all want to
dress cooler. But, please remember to adhere to the dress code policy and
dress respectably for the learning environment. This means that all logos
on clothes must be appropriate for school (no references to drugs, alcohol,
violence, hate speech, and/or offensive remarks). T-shirts, shirts,
sweatshirts, sweaters, or tops must cover midriffs/torsos and
undergarments. Pants need to be school appropriate (no pajamas or
sagging), while shorts, skirts, and dresses must be school appropriate length
which is no higher than mid-thigh.
Students – this is a reminder that cellphones must be turned
off from the first bell of the day to the last bell of the day.
Students are not allowed to walk around or be in class with earbuds in
their ears or attached to their phone for any reason. If a teacher asks
you to use earbuds to access something on an iPad, remove them when you are
done. Students who are seen wearing earbuds, listening to music, receiving or
sending text messages, or on social media, will have their cellphones
confiscated according to the cellphone policy. The only exception to this
policy is if 1) a teacher has asked you to turn on your phone to access an
educational resource or textbook – without earbuds, and 2) if there is a
medical reason that the cellphone needs to be on and in a pocket or on a desk.
8th grade students with iPads should only use their iPad to access
textbooks, audiobooks, educational apps and resources.
Attention students! The Kiddo! Family Carnival opens
on Friday May 27, and will be open for the whole Memorial Day Weekend. Come
ride the Zipper, the Sizzler, or the Typhoon, if you dare! Remind
your parents that advance discount tickets are on sale for $25 at the Kiddo!
office every day this week, until 3:30 PM, while supplies last. See you at the
Carnival!
