"Our anger can be transformed into a power which can move the world."
This Saturday is our annual Holiday Gift
Basket event. Please join us in the library from 9am – 12noon to help
fill gift bags for families in need in Marin County. MVMS families are
currently donating items to go into the gift bags and students and families can
fill their gift bags from over 300 wish lists we have, then personalize a card
to go with it. This annual tradition helps make the holiday season a little
more joyful for those who are in need and do not have the ability to give their
children or loved ones needed items for the holidays. We look forward to
making over 300 gift bags on Saturday and hope you will join us!

As many of you know, Student Council traditionally
holds its Annual Canned Food Drive for the Marin County Food Bank.
This year our goal is to collect 2015 pounds to celebrate the year 2015.
Our school community has been very generous throughout the years. As a result,
we have exceeded our goal each and every year. This year's Canned
Food Drive will end on Wednesday, December 16th. Please bring
your canned goods and non-perishable foods to the first class you have each
morning starting today. Your teacher will send a
volunteer down to Lower Earth Room 3 (Mr. Doyle’s room) with your bag of
non-perishable foods. Student Council Members will be waiting at the door of
Room 3 to collect the food. Please make sure to write your grade level on
the bag since we will be having a grade level competition. The grade level that
brings in the most "weight" will win a mystery prize. The
most needed items are peanut butter, cereal, tuna, soup, canned meat, chili,
granola bars, and baked beans. Please do not bring in glass items. This
is a great way to take care of our community. If you have any questions
please contact Mr. Doyle or Ms. Thebaut. Thanks for your continued support!
Student Council is excited to kick off our traditional Panther Time door
decorating contest during the month of December. Each Panther Time
will decide how to decorate their classroom door. Some themes may include, but
are not limited to: Winter Wonderland, Happy New Year, Panther Pride, Global
Community, your teacher's subject, or seasonal decorations. You could even
cover your door with words that represent the month of December. The sky is the
limit! Be sure to include everyone in your design and have fun with it!
We encourage the use of recycled or used materials from home or the
classroom. Please DO NOT purchase new items. Let’s think Green! All
doors must be finished by Thursday, December 17th. The doors
will be judged on the following criteria: Effort, Creativity,
Resourcefulness, and Theme. A mystery prize will be awarded to one door
per grade level. Happy decorating!
