"Ask yourself constantly, "What is the right thing to do?""
Congratulations to 8th
Grader Anne Overton, whose letter to J.K. Rowling won California's first place
award in the Library of Congress Letters about Literature competition. Her
letter was chosen from over 3,300 letters by California students and will represent
our state in the national competition next month. Way to go, Anne, and good
luck in the national competition! MVMS is rooting for you.
Attention MVMS staff and students. The Go Green Challenge is on! From now until Friday, April 10th, Student Council will choose one more surprise day for the Go Green Challenge. If you walk, bike, or carpool to school please come by the front of the school and pick up a little treat. Also, put your name in for a drawing that will be held on Friday, April 10th. Grand prize is a GoPro Camera. We will also have movie tickets to give away as well as our traditional bike blender. It makes amazing smoothies for all who participate. So remember, bike, walk, or carpool to school to show your Panther Pride. See you out there…which day? You never know.
To all basketball team players: Please hand in your uniform to Ms. Palmer in room 84 before the end of the day today so she can return your deposit.
Club News
Hello Cabaret cast,
crew, and talent acts! The DVD
viewing party originally scheduled for today has been moved
to Friday at lunch. All students involved in the Cabaret are invited
to the chorus room to view scenes from the awesome DVD of the show! You are
welcome to bring your lunch in to the chorus room to watch the video. At that
time, any student that ordered a DVD may pick up their copy from Ms Nicholson.
If you cannot attend at lunch on Friday, the DVDs will be available for pick-up
at recess, lunch, or after school in the chorus room after the break.
NO Yearbook meeting TODAY!
Hello MVMS, do you have a sweet tooth? If so you're in luck.
Fundsport A Student, our World Savvy group, will be hosting a bake sale at
lunch on Thursday the 9th on the 8th grade side of the gym. We will be selling
jello, assorted candy, cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and rice crispies. Not only
do you get something sweet to eat, but you support a good cause. 100% of the
proceeds will go to purchasing sports equipment for the Arapaho Native American
Youth on the Wind River Reservation, one of America's most violent and
impoverished areas.
Thanks and see you Thursday!
