Students, please remember there is no skateboarding allowed on the MVMS campus, before school, during school or after school. Students who skateboard on campus will have their boards confiscated.

Seventh Graders who might, just might want to be WEB Leaders: This is your sixth announcement about the “Hey Maybe I’ll Apply to be a WEB Leader” informational meeting tomorrow. By now you should have an idea. Find out what it’s like to be a WEB Leader in the multimedia room at lunch Tuesday. As a prize we will have free, yes free,  application forms. All are welcome and encouraged to come on by. Don’t be shy.

Sixth Graders! You’ve been listening to the announcements for seventh graders about becoming WEB Leaders, but did you know there’s also a chance for you to be involved in the WEB Program next year? You can become a member of what’s known as the A-TEAM. This responsible, organized and awesome crew helps make the WEB Program work and they also help run the lollipop sales. If you want to find out more, come to a lunchtime meeting Friday in the multimedia room.

Attention 8th Grade Girls: The annual Marin Teen Girl Conference is Sunday, March 26th in San Rafael. Workshop topics include body image, respect, coping with others’ expectations, healthy relationships, what high school is really like and more! Breakfast, lunch, a goody bag and other gifts are included. For more information, check out the flyers on the bulletin board by the front desk or in the counseling wing. See your counselor with any questions or for information about scholarships.

TODAY is the deadline for recognition of second trimester community service hours. Please turn in your signed forms to the Community First mailbox in the front desk cabinet TODAY. You can visit the Community First page on the MVMS website for more information.

Attention 8th graders: Interested in becoming a member of the Cheerleading squad at Tam High next year? There is an information meeting on Wednesday, March 22nd at 3pm in the Tam High Student Center. You can pick up a tryout packet, meet the coaches and team captains and get your questions answered. All interested 8th graders are welcome!

Mathletes meets tomorrow in Ms. Ferreira’s room 33 at lunch. Bring your lunch and have some calculated fun!

The 8th Grade Lunchtime Football League is starting up soon. If you are interested in participating, please sign up at lunchtime in room 85 TODAY through Wednesday. All 8th graders are welcomed!

Seventh graders: Want to help choose the music for your dance? There are song suggestion boxes in the upper and lower 7th grade pods. Drop your ideas for songs there by this afternoon because the DJ will not be taking suggestions at the dance.

Attention 8th graders: Interested in becoming a member of the Cheerleading squad at Tam High next year? Tam High Varsity Cheerleaders will be on campus TODAY after school to hand out informational flyers and answer questions about Cheer at Tam.

Lunches delivered to the office are for individual students only who have forgotten their lunch and not for parties or other students. Students are not permitted to have their parents deliver group or party lunches (pizza, for example). Beverages in glass bottles are not permitted on campus because of the danger of broken glass and please ask your parents to NOT bring beverages in takeout cups, as they spill in the cabinet and front office areas.

Is March Madness on your calendar?  It’s Wednesday, March 29th right after school!  Come to the gym and shoot free throws to raise money for breast cancer research.  Everyone is invited whether you play basketball or not, teachers too!  There will be an event raffle and prizes for the top fundraisers.  Make sure to pick up a flyer and sponsor sheet at the front office and start getting your friends and family to sponsor you for each successful free throw shot you make.  Or go to www.boyzabc.org and sign up there!  A very special guest, Jennifer Azzi, will be attending to kick off the event!  Come to March Madness and meet the professional basketball player and Olympic champion, Jennifer Azzi!

March Madness is coming to MVMS! BOYZ Against Breast Cancer is having its annual fundraiser on Wednesday, March 29th. All MVMS students can participate in this fun and exciting activity to raise money for breast cancer research. Participants: come to the gym after school on March 29th and see how many free throws you can make out of 100 attempts. Ask family and friends to pledge money for every shot you make. Prizes, raffles and a very special guest will be there to cheer you on! Watch for flyers and posters this week for more information. See you there!


Got a sweet tooth? Come buy cookies, brownies and donuts for a cause. Ms. Sterling's class will be holding a bake sale outside the 7th grade area during lunch TODAY. All items are $1 each and the proceeds will all go to support the Raphael House, a homeless shelter for families in San Francisco.
