8th graders:  Next Monday, October 24, you will be participating in Building Community Day.  All 8th graders will be at the community center and in the gym in various community-building activities.  Please bring a sack lunch for the day.  If you cannot bring your lunch, you must order your Choice Lunch by Friday.   

Hello Problem-Solving Panthers:  Announcing the AMC8 Math Contest on November 16.  This contest is a national,  25-question, 40-minute middle school multiple choice written exam in mathematics.  The top three students for each grade will receive a gold, silver or bronze Certificate for Outstanding Achievement.  Registration is now open until next Friday, October 28.  There is a $5 fee and scholarships are available.  The contest will be on Wednesday, November 16, during Panther Time.  Space is limited to the first 60 students who talk to Ms. Peets or Ms. Ferreira in Room 33. 

Lollipops.  Say it with me now: Lollipops.  Tomorrow at lunch is the day and time.  Write yourself a note or three right now.  Ten thin dimes will get you a choice of many, many flavors, each better than the last.  Tomorrow lunch, 20 nickels, behind the library.

Beyond Differences meets TODAY at lunch in the multimedia room.  It's not too late to join our club!  We are planning some exciting schoolwide events, so come on by if you want to see what we're all about.

Do you need help with an assignment?  Talk to Mr. Salvatto or Ms. Palmer about signing up for After School Homework Help.  This help is available Mondays and Thursdays in the Library from 3PM-4PM.  You can also ask any of your teachers for information on how to sign up.

The MVMS Cabaret is coming! Are you interested in acting, singing, dancing, set design, costumes, stage crew and more? Mark your calendars now for the Cabaret Information Meeting on Tuesday, November 1st at lunch in the Multi Media Room. Do you want to make a change in the world and in your community?  If you answer yes, then join LIMBS which helps people in different countries get prosthetic limbs.  The LIMBS club is selling super cool socks every day this week.  Buy socks so others can walk!  Come to Room 27 TODAY and bring $12 for 3 pairs. 

Calling all pigs! TODAY is a pig race day! Bring your oinkers out to the 7th grade lunch area and join the fun. Each race winner will receive a treat and a chance to race in the Grand Pig Prix at the end of the month. You can also turn in your ticket stubs, money and grab more tickets to sell.
